Chuck has dedicated most of his professional life to the service of the people of La Porte County. Watterson currently serves as the La Porte County Chief Deputy Prosecutor at the La Porte County Prosecutor’s Office and has held this position since he was appointed by Prosecutor Sean Fagan in January 2023.
Watterson is a 21 year resident of La Porte County and his ties to the community run deep. His wife, Natalie Watterson, is a lifelong La Porte resident and Administrator at Kesling Intermediate School. Together they have a beautiful 3 year old daughter. Watterson attended La Porte High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University North Central. Watterson obtained his law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law. He has been practicing law in La Porte for over six years. He served as the President of the La Porte County Election Board for 3 years as an appointee of the Republican party. His experience as a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney has given him a deep understanding of the criminal justice system and the importance of fairness and impartiality in the courtroom.
If elected, Watterson will focus on improving access to justice for all members of the community. He believes everyone deserves a fair trial and that the court should be a place where justice is served for everyone. He also has a strong passion for the Juvenile Justice system and wants to work together with the schools to assure that our Juveniles are given every opportunity to succeed.
Watterson is known for his dedication to his work and his commitment to serving the people of La Porte County. He has a proven track record of fairness, integrity, professionalism, and is widely respected by his colleagues in the legal community. It has always been his dream to be the presiding Judge of the La Porte Circuit Court, and to follow the esteemed work that Judge Alevizos has done during his respected time on the bench.
If elected as judge of the La Porte Circuit Court, Watterson will bring his knowledge, experience, and infusion of youth to the bench, ensuring that justice is served in a fair and impartial manner for all members of the community.
